Community

Are you interested in knowing more about Catholicism or are you a Catholic who was raised in the faith but are not sure on what the Church teaches? Are you coming from a Protestant or Evangelical tradition and wanted to join us at our events? How do we make sense of spirituality and its effects on daily life? These questions and more are fundamental in understanding the role of religion in one's life. We invite you to come and join us as we explore and learn about the Catholic faith. We talk and engage in discussion over good food in a home setting. The Newman Center at UCSC is truly your home away from home where you can explore new frontiers but not get lost, where your tradition and personal beliefs are respected, and where we can learn to enjoy each other's company.

We offer the following in addition to Mass and confession:

  • Bible study on Zoom or in-person

  • Weekly dinner

  • Choir practice

  • Spiritual direction

  • Discussion group

  • Community outreach

  • Hiking and trips
